Best AI estimate software for roofers (2026)

Roofing jobs are won or lost on the estimate. If quotes take days, look inconsistent, or never get followed up, you lose work to whoever shows up first with a clear number. You do not need a dozen AI apps for that. You need software that builds the quote, a way to book the inspection, and a simple way to write clear customer language. Here is what fits, with starting prices checked in October 2026.

What "AI estimate software" actually means for roofers

Most products labeled AI for roofing do one of three jobs:

  • Build the quote in your field software — templates, price books, photo attachments, e-sign, convert to invoice.
  • Speed up the writing — turn rough notes into a clear scope, exclusions and follow-up texts (ChatGPT or similar).
  • Book the site visit — online scheduling so leads do not wait on a callback.

Pick the field software first. AI writing and booking tools are cheap add-ons once quotes live in one system.

How to choose

1–3 trucks, mostly residential

Start with Jobber Core at $29/mo (annual) or Housecall Pro Basic at $59/mo (annual). Both handle estimates, scheduling and invoicing. Jobber is often enough for lawn, cleaning and smaller trade shops; Housecall Pro is a common pick when you want home-service features and payments in one place. Use the free ChatGPT tier to turn job photos and notes into a short, plain-English scope before you hit send.

Growing crew, insurance work, or multi-crew scheduling

ServiceTitan is built for larger trade contractors. Pricing is custom, so budget for a sales call and onboarding time. It is usually overkill if you are still quoting from a tablet between jobs.

You already have software; estimates just sound rough

Keep your current system. Add ChatGPT (free, or Plus at $20/mo) for:

  • Turning a bullet list of materials into a customer-facing scope with exclusions.
  • Writing three follow-up texts: "estimate ready," "checking in after 3 days," and "seasonal reminder."
  • Cleaning up a messy voice note from the roof into line items you can paste into Jobber or Housecall Pro.

Always check numbers, codes and warranty language yourself. AI drafts words; you own the price.

Before you buy

  • Time your last five estimates from first visit to signed quote. If that is more than 48 hours, speed and follow-up matter more than fancy AI.
  • Export or rebuild your price book once. Wrong unit costs in AI-assisted quotes are still wrong.
  • Ask whether the tool emails or texts the proposal with e-sign, and whether it syncs to QuickBooks or similar.
  • Run one real job through a trial before paying annually.

We have not run timed estimate tests on these products. This guide compares published pricing and positioning for roofing-style quoting workflows, as of Oct 2026.
